Raquel Puig Zaldivar

Raquel Puig Zaldivar is a Cuban-American “other voices” writer, attorney and college professor. She has published two books: Robert Goes Fishing, a bilingual picture book for children; and Women Don’t Need to Write, a historical fiction novel published by Arte Publico Press. She is currently translating her second novel, Bolero, into Spanish, and is working on another work of fiction and a fictionalized autobiography. 

In addition to her work as an author, Ms. Puig Zaldivar was also a professor at Miami Dade College where she taught English composition and has a legal practice where she specializes in probate, guardianship and estate planning.  

Ms. Puig Zaldivar has a BA from the University of Miami, with majors in English literature, Spanish literature and journalism. She has an MA from the University of Miami in literature and a JD from the same institution. She currently resides in Miami, Florida.
